The Mongolian Students Abroad / Forum 2025 Program was held in Istanbul with the contributions of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Presidency of Mongolia, Mongolian diplomatic missions, the Council of Mongolians Abroad, the Turkish–Mongolian Foundation, and Fırat University.
The program, which aimed to support the academic, cultural, and leadership development of Mongolian students and youth studying abroad, was attended by Veysel Çiftçi, President of the Turkish–Mongolian Foundation. Fırat University was represented by Prof. Dr. Seda Arıkan, Director of the School of Foreign Languages, and Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kaan Yalçın, Director of FÜ TÖMER and a faculty member of our department.
During the three-day event, Mongolian students studying in different countries shared their knowledge and experiences through conferences, presentations, and workshops. In addition, the MSYOC Next Generation Innovation Project Competition was organized to encourage innovative solutions to challenges faced in Mongolia. Cultural activities and visits to historical sites in Istanbul also contributed to the participants’ understanding of Türkiye’s cultural heritage.
At the end of the program, Veysel Çiftçi, President of the Turkish–Mongolian Foundation, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Fırat University by presenting a portrait of Genghis Khan, symbolizing Mongolian history and culture, to Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göktaş, Rector of Fırat University. The importance of further strengthening academic cooperation between Fırat University and universities and research institutions in Mongolia was also emphasized.
