Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature Department was established in 2013 and education period is 4 years.
Students who graduate from Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature Department have title of Turcologist and can be Turkish and Turkish Language and Literature teacher in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education. Also, They can work as a expert and assistant expert in the Ataturk Cultural Centre, the Turkish Language Institution, the TRT and the Ministry of Culture. They can work at the Univeristies in other Turkish republics and in various institutions associated with these republics.

The students who have finished or discontinued another programme will be exempt from the cources which coincide with the curriculum of our department.
Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures , which was established at 2013, is one of youngest departments of Faculty of Humanity and Social Sciences. The department gained the capability of carrying out courses and practices by only its own faculty members over 2 years. During this period, the technical facilities and equipments owned by the department have reached to an essential level for a contemporary education. Education is given in an independent building of Humanity and Social Sciences. There is 1 classroom in our department.

High School Diploma plus placement by the Student Selection and Placement Centre according to the score obtained in the Student Selection Examination and the student’s preferences. For foreign students, High School Diploma plus placement of the student by the university according to his score in Foreign Student Examination and student’s preferences.
Students are required to complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement in eight semesters and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF grades.

Examinations, assessment and grading are held according to the regulations arranged by the University Senate. There are one midterm and one final examination for each course. Examinations are written examinations however if necessary they can also be performed orally or by practice work. The evaluation of the weights of the courses is determined by the lecturer at the beginning of the semester. The weight of the final examination can not be less than 60%. The final evaluation is performed by the lecturer.
All students are required to perform summer practices as a part of graduation requirements. They must complete a summer practice of at least 40 working days in two seperate sessions. For the summer practice evaluation, students have to pass both from the summer practice report and presentation. During the summer practice presentations, each committe of lecturers evaluates the students performance separately and an average score is calculated for the student.
