Our Department’s Faculty Members Participated in a Symposium Held in Kazakhstan

One of the largest universities in Kazakhstan is Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. A ceremony was held at the Abay Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event was attended by Yerlan Karin, State Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan; Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan; Yerbolat Dossayev, Mayor of Almaty; Canseyit Tüymebayev, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; foreign guests; state and public officials; as well as the university’s academic staff and students.

Following the exhibition, the event concluded with a ceremony. A historical documentary film titled Farabi - 90, which focuses on the country’s leading higher education institution, was presented to the audience. The film provided information about the achievements and historical events of the educational institution, which was established in 1934, up to the present day.

In his speech at the ceremony, Rector Canseyit Tüymebayev emphasized the outcomes and successes of the university's research and innovation activities.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a symposium was organized on February 5, 2025. Faculty members from our department, Prof. Dr. Ercan Alkaya, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kaan Yalçın, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özerin, participated in the symposium and presented their papers.
