The Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ, along with his delegation, visited the Ambassador of Mongolia to Ankara, Munkhbayar GOMBOSUREN. Ambassador GOMBOSUREN stated that Fırat University is closely followed for its achievements in Mongolia.

During the visit to the Embassy of Mongolia in Ankara, Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ was accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet YILMAZ and the Faculty Member of our Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kaan YALÇIN.

The visit was also attended by Veysel ÇİFTÇİ, President of the Turkish-Mongolian Foundation and also the Head of the Management Services Department of the General Directorate of Customs at the Turkish Ministry of Trade, as well as Yelikai GAJAP, a graduate student from the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of our University.

During the meeting, Ambassador Munkhbayar GOMBOSUREN emphasized that Fırat University is an important research university, noting that the achievements of Fırat University are closely followed in Mongolia. He stated that Fırat University is one of the universities that will make the most significant contribution to Turkish-Mongolian relations in areas such as education, technology, culture, and health.

GOMBOSUREN expressed his intention to work on strengthening cooperation between Fırat University and key institutions in Mongolia, including universities, in the near future.

Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ expressed Fırat University’s readiness to cooperate with Mongolia in various fields such as software, technology, metallurgy, mining, veterinary medicine, medicine, language, culture, and archaeology.

He emphasized that Fırat University would be pleased if Mongolian students choose the University to receive education in these fields and expressed his commitment to working on enhancing academic collaborations with universities in Mongolia.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet YILMAZ highlighted the importance of academic ties in the field of engineering between the two countries and stressed the necessity of cooperation and joint degree programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Veysel ÇİFTÇİ, President of the Turkish-Mongolian Foundation, stated that Fırat University could serve as a strong bridge between Turkey and Mongolia. He also expressed the readiness of the Turkish-Mongolian Foundation to offer full support for the cooperation initiatives.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kaan YALÇIN, Faculty Member of our Department, emphasized the importance of the strong historical and cultural ties between the two countries and expressed that teaching Turkish to Mongolian students is an honor for them.

Yelikai GAJAP, a graduate student from our Department, stated that being a student at Fırat University is a privilege.

At the end of the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ expressed his satisfaction by writing his thoughts in the guestbook.
